Winter in Morocco
Two years ago, a powerful earthquake hit Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, killing 2,900 and injuring 5,500. More than 60,000 homes were damaged or destroyed in an area that is covered in snow each winter. The destruction was centred in Al Haouz, where Human Appeal’s winter efforts focus this winter.
Today, many families are still living in temporary shelters, exposed to freezing temperatures, sickness, and extreme hardship as winter descends.
