Winter in Yemen
This winter, 7.5 million Yemenis urgently need shelter and household items. Some 2 million people are displaced from their homes in Yemen, including over half a million people in Ibb governorate. Most displaced families in Yemen are living in makeshift shelters that don’t protect them from the cold, rain and flooding.
This year, families who have survived years of conflict and displacement fear the dangers that winter will bring.
This project is Zakat applicable.
Help a displaced family in the bitterly cold mountains
Donate to our Yemen Winter Emergency Fund and help us to protect the most vulnerable families across eight countries from snow, rain, flooding, freezing temperatures and bitter winds. In Yemen, £77 will provide thick winter blankets to keep a whole family protected from the cold. Donate and you’ll provide double blankets, child-sized blankets, and a blanket for a baby. Each blanket is thermal, warm and suited specifically to winter.
We’ll be targeting displaced families in the mountainous area of Ibb, where temperatures drop to about 1 degree each winter. Help us to protect families from winter sicknesses and the cold this year.
