Qurbani in Myanmar
“Whoever removes a grief from a believer from amongst the sorrows of this life, Allah will remove a grief from him amongst the sorrows of the Day of Resurrection. (Muslim)
Provide vulnerable displaced Rohingya families with Qurbani meat this Eid for £115.
For £115, we’ll deliver your Qurbani to Rohingya families in Myanmar, where 29% of children are undernourished and stunted. Human Appeal will source healthy, cared-for animals from local farmers, and distribute four kilos of nutritional meat to each vulnerable family. Often, Qurbani is a family’s only chance in the year to eat meat.
The Rohingya people have faced decades of systematic discrimination, statelessness and targeted violence in Myanmar. Three years ago, a wave of unimaginable persecution forced hundreds of thousands of Rohigya people from their homes.
Today, 130,000 people live in crowded camps in Rakhine State, Myanmar, where they’re restricted from leaving or making a living, and struggle to support themselves.
The arrival of COVID-19 has only made matters worse, making families even more dependent on relief. Human Rights Watch suggests that coronavirus protection measures are being abused to subject Rohingya people to humiliating punishments.
Human Appeal continues to support Rohingya families, and we have 29 years’ experience delivering Qurbani. Last year, you helped us to provide 3,777 Rohingya refugees with fresh Qurbani meat.
Support some of the most persecuted, most forgotten people this Eid, as they struggle with extreme conditions.
Donate your Qurbani to Rohingya families in Myanmar today, and continue the legacy of the prophets.
