Educating the future
The supplies and resources for our Gaza education programme are sourced entirely from inside Gaza and this project has not been affected by the aid blockade.
£300 – provide a child under 10 in Gaza with education through our mobile schools in Gaza for a whole term.
£100 - provide a child under 10 in Gaza with education through our mobile schools in Gaza for a month.
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Whoever does not show mercy to our young ones, or acknowledge the rights of our elders, is not one of us.” (Ahmad)
Multiply your Zakat by 70 times
This project is a profound way to give your Zakat, transforming the life of a child that has survived against the odds amidst bombing, displacement, and utter horror. Give them chance for a better future by helping them to recover the education lost to the conflict.
What are we providing?
This Ramadan, provide a gift that cannot be replicated – the education that will last a child their entire future. This project will help children who have lost almost two years of education to be able to resume their studies, even as the attacks have resumed. We’re committed to providing education for as long as children and parents ask it of us.
Our 8 mobile tents will be anchored to the ground, stable and weather proof. We’ll be erecting these in the Middle Area and southern Gaza, where there’s the highest number of displaced people.
Not only will children learn Maths, Science, English and Arabic, but we’ll also provide a psychologist to design counselling sessions and psychosocial activities to support their emotional recovery, improve their communication, and provide a safe space for them to express their feelings.
A decimated education system
15,000 children of school age were killed across the 15 months of bombing, in addition to 800 education workers. Now as the bombing resumes, more children pay the price with their lives. But we can be there for those who survive, giving them a place to learn and make friends – a small solace amid the very real hardship they live.
A staggering 95% of schools were damaged and 85% were destroyed so much that they are unusable. A child surviving the war has lost almost two full academic years of schooling, and, even with a ceasefire, the opportunity to return to education is severely impacted.
As a result of bombings and other forms of destruction, the education system in Gaza is facing a suffocating crisis, with scarce resources and dilapidated infrastructure, threatening to decimate Gaza’s usually high literacy and education levels.
The suffering that children in Gaza face today is unfathomable, living with horrific trauma, deep loss, hunger, and deep ongoing suffering. This Ramadan, the least we owe the children of our ummah is the support of a good education, to help them to build the skills for a better tomorrow.

Why give through Human Appeal
With over 33 years of experience in Gaza, we have the expertise and determination to navigate through barriers, source supplies locally, and deliver critical aid to those in need. Even as the war on Gaza continues, our heroic staff in Gaza is able to run incredible projects.
During Ramadan, we helped over 700,000 people, and we delivered your Qurbani to almost 17,000 people, despite the siege and closed borders. Over the past year, we’ve begun the process of sponsoring 4,000 new orphans in Gaza, and we’ve delivered hot meals to over 2 million people.
*In extreme emergencies like this it is difficult to accurately count how many individual people we helped but to conservatively calculate this figure, we avoid double counting. This means that if we distributed 3,000 meals on a Tuesday and 3,000 on a Wednesday in the same area, then we only count this as 3,000 people, despite providing 6,000 meals.
Human Appeal is committed to providing aid in the country or programme that you select. In the event we complete the programme, exceed the required funds, or are denied access to a particular country for reasons beyond our control, Human Appeal reserves the right to reallocate your donation to another programme where it is needed most.
