Almost all the seats have been filled. £350 to register. £5,500 to raise. A reset you’ll feel for the rest of your life.

Yes, I'm trekking!

About the challenge

The mountains don’t care about excuses. They don’t care what you do for work, what you owe, what you’ve been putting off. They only care if you walk.

Over eight days you’ll hike high mountain passes, ride across wide valleys, and find a kind of quiet you forgot existed. You’ll sharpen your mind. You’ll strengthen your soul. You’ll push further than you thought you could.

This isn’t a holiday. It’s raw grit, stunning scenery, and a brotherhood forged on the trail. You’ll come back refreshed, renewed, reconnected with your faith. Families in Sudan will receive the lifeline they desperately need — because you chose to act.

The journey, day by day

  • Day 1 — Arrival in Osh

You’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Rest, then meet your guides in the hotel lobby late afternoon — around 5pm — for the briefing.

  • Day 2 — Osh to Tepshi Camp

Drive from Osh to Gulcha along the Pamir Highway. The ride begins on a dirt road, following the Kara Bulak stream toward Tepshi Camp, past shepherds’ yurts pitched among the junipers. Near the top of the climb, you’ll leave the road for a trail ascending the ridge to the left. At the end of the ridge, descend into Tepshi Camp at 2,710m — your host for the night is waiting.

  • Day 3 — Tepshi Camp to Airy Bell Pass

From your yurt, a small trail leads up to Airy Bell Pass at 2,950m. A steep, hour-long ride brings you to the summit and an impressive panorama of the Kum Bell Mountains to the west.

  • Day 4 — Sary Oi Camp to the foot of Ak Tor Pass

The day starts with a demonstration of milking and making dairy products from horse and cow milk — a glimpse into the local way of life. An easy morning, then descend from Sary Oi summer camp to the river and turn upstream, skirting a precipitous gorge.

  • Day 5 — Ak Tor Pass

Cross the headwaters of the river and ride south toward the entrance of the pass. A short but steep 500m climb brings you to the summit of Ak Tor Pass at 3,500m. On the way up, the sharp rock walls of the Asan Korgon Range are the view that earns the effort.

  • Day 6 — Horse trek

After breakfast, you’ll meet your horseman and get a short instruction session to get familiar with your horse. Once ready, begin the ride along the river, soaking in the mountain scenery.

  • Day 7 — Horse trek to Tulpar-Kol Lake, then back to Osh

Ride toward the snow-capped Tulpar-Kol Lake, with views of Lenin Peak — the highlight of the tour. Lunch by the lake. Time to explore and take photos before heading back to Osh.

  • Day 8 — Rest and reflect

A day to slow down. To process what you’ve seen and what you’ve done. To sit with it.

  • Day 9 — Travel home

Transfer to the airport and the journey home.

Kyrgyzstan for Sudan

Kyrgyzstan for Sudan

Imagine leaving everything behind. Your home. Your community. The life you knew. That is the reality for nearly 11 million people displaced across Sudan — uprooted, uncertain, surviving on what little they can reach. Over 25 million people, almost half the population, face a devastating food crisis.

These aren’t statistics. They’re fathers, sons and brothers — and the mothers, daughters and sisters who depend on them.

Human Appeal is on the ground in Sudan, delivering food parcels to hungry families, providing hygiene kits, and sponsoring orphans who have lost everything. The need is vast. The work isn’t done.

Trek for them. Reflect for yourself. Return changed.
