Permanent shelters for Yemen’s flood-hit families

The Messenger (PBUH) said: Whoever covers a Muslim, Allah will cover him in this life and the Hereafter. Allah is in aid of the servant so long as the servant is in aid of his brother.” (Sahih Muslim)

£6,500 - Provide an entire family whose home was destroyed with a safe brick shelter with rooms, windows and a door.

Plagued by war and flooding

Residents of Tihama in Hodeidah, Yemen, have not only endured six years of war, but were also hit by devastating floods last summer, which killed over 130 and affected a total of 35,000 families.

In Tihama, where most livelihoods depend on farming, homes were destroyed, farms were decimated, and livestock were killed.

A home for the future

Let’s build a brighter future. Help us to provide a whole family with a permanent home that can protect them from rain, floods, and the brutal summer heat. Each shelter will be constructed from bricks, and consist of a living space, kitchen, bathroom, and will have windows and a door, providing a safe and dignified space for a vulnerable family.

Show compassion and generosity to a family that has endured hardship for too long. You can even pool your donation with your friends and family, working together to lift and empower a Yemeni family.

In all, this project will help 20 families in Tihama to recover and rebuild after the flooding with a new shelter.

Our work in Yemen

Human Appeal has been changing lives through our projects in Yemen since 2014. We’ve helped over 900,000 people during the course of the conflict, primarily through health projects and emergency food aid to tackle malnutrition. Last year, you helped us to support 429,137 people through projects combating malnutrition, cholera, COVID-19 and water shortages.

Your charity will transform the future of one family. With a space to call home, you’ll help them to begin to rebuild, with a safe and dignified home.
