Physiotherapy for war survivors in Yemen

100% Zakat applicable

The Messenger (PBUH) said: “Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One above the heavens will have mercy upon you.” (Tirmidhi)

£90 – Provide three vulnerable Yemeni people with physiotherapy treatment by helping us to provide equipment to a physiotherapy centre.

Yemen’s clinics and hospitals are chronically overstretched, with 20 million Yemenis still in need of healthcare. Only half of Yemen’s health facilities are open, and with continuing injures from conflict, landmines, and bombings, the need for physiotherapy is only increasing.

In this month of mercy, help us to rehabilitate injuries for people affected by the war in Yemen by providing equipment to a physiotherapy centre in Sana’a.

Seven years of war, millions left injured and disabled

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 4.5 million Yemenis are disabled. Most patients at the Educational Physiotherapy Centre in Sana’a are people who have been injured by the war, such as through bombings and landmines, but it supports all people in need of treatment, including people born with disabilities, children, and older people.

Life-changing equipment

With your help, we want to provide a spinal traction device, three electrical stimulation devices for use on muscles, ten chairs, and four clinic beds as well as massage and infrared equipment.

In all, around 2,500 people will directly receive physiotherapy treatment over the course of the first year, but around 17,000 people will benefit from our support to the centre, and your donations will continue to help those who receive treatment year after year, making it a beautiful act of Sadaqah Jariyah.

Our work in Yemen

Human Appeal has been changing lives through our projects in Yemen since 2014. Last year, we helped 963,849 people in Yemen, including providing over 800,000 people with healthcare. In 2020, we supported 358,011 people through healthcare, nutrition, winter support, and projects fighting COVID-19 and malnutrition.

Your charity this Ramadan can transform lives in Yemen by providing critical healthcare to people forgotten and marginalised during the conflict. Be a mercy to vulnerable people in the holy month, and transform your blessings in the hereafter.

Please note, if sufficient funds are not raised for a particular project, your donation may be reallocated to where the need is greatest.
