The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The dearest of people to Allah, may He be exalted, is the one who does most benefit to people, and the dearest of deeds to Allah, may He be exalted, is joy that you bring to a Muslim, or relieving him of distress… And to walk with a brother to meet his needs is dearer to me than observing i‘tikaaf in this mosque – meaning the mosque of Madinah – for a month.” (Al Tabaraani)
Multiply your Zakat by 70 times
This project is an impactful way to give your Zakat, saving or preserving the life of a person that has survived against the odds of bombing, displacement, and utter horror.
What we’re providing
With your help this Ramadan, we want to support Al Awda Health Centre in Jabalia refugee camp. Both the health centre and the camp were heavily bombed and destroyed, with few buildings remaining. It’s a hospital that is over 35 years old but was completely razed last July.
Today, Al Awda is one of the few health facilities that is still providing medical care, now operating out of a house in the area, as well as 4 medical points, 3 mobile clinics, 4 temporary health centres and 2 hospitals.
Through 10 outpatient clinics, you’ll help us to provide consultations in gynaecology, obstetrics, surgery, paediatrics, cardiology, ENT, dermatology, and general medicine. We’ll also provide ultrasounds, lab work, and pharmacy, with all services being completely free.
Over the course of one year, we expect to treat 45,000 people, with many people returning for check-ups and multiple consultations.
Donate this Ramadan, and allow us to treat displaced people living in the rubble of their homes and memories this Ramadan.
Destruction in Gaza
A staggering 66% of all buildings have been damaged or destroyed, with most of Jabalia camp razed to the ground. More than 111,000 people have been injured in Gaza since October 9, and sicknesses continue to mount, without much improvement in healthcare facilities.
Over the course of the 15 months of bombing, at least 654 attacks on healthcare facilities were verified by the World Health Organisation. Today, hospitals and clinics struggle to reopen amid decimated buildings and infrastructure, chronic fuel shortages, and the killing of over 1,000 health workers.
Help us to save lives in Gaza this Ramadan, and multiply your blessings in the hereafter.

Why give through Human Appeal
With over 33 years of experience in Gaza, we have the expertise and determination to navigate through barriers, source supplies locally, and deliver critical aid to those in need. Even as the war on Gaza continues, our heroic staff in Gaza is able to run incredible projects.
During Ramadan 2024, we helped over 700,000 people, and we delivered your Qurbani to almost 17,000 people, despite the siege and closed borders. Over the past year, we’ve begun the process of sponsoring 4,000 new orphans in Gaza, and we’ve delivered hot meals to over 2 million people.
*In extreme emergencies like this it is difficult to accurately count how many individual people we helped but to conservatively calculate this figure, we avoid double counting. This means that if we distributed 3,000 meals on a Tuesday and 3,000 on a Wednesday in the same area, then we only count this as 3,000 people, despite providing 6,000 meals.
Human Appeal is committed to providing aid in the country or programme that you select. In the event we complete the programme, exceed the required funds, or are denied access to a particular country for reasons beyond our control, Human Appeal reserves the right to reallocate your donation to another programme where it is needed most.
