Human Appeal and Papiss Demba Cisse Foundation host Star-Studded Football Gala to announce 3-year partnership

Manchester, UK, 29th April 2024 - Human Appeal, a leading humanitarian aid charity, today announces a 3-year partnership with the Papiss Demba Cisse Foundation, to deliver life-saving projects in Senegal. To launch the partnership, Human Appeal and Papiss Demba Cisse Foundation will host a ‘Football Legends Gala Dinner’, taking place on Monday 6th May at The Hilton hotel, Deansgate, Manchester.

Many Premier League footballers are confirmed to be attending, including Papiss Cisse himself. The event will feature a 3-course dinner and accompaniment of Senegalese performers to bring Senegal’s culture to life in Manchester. Premium ticket holders can also enjoy an exclusive meet and greet with Papiss Cisse.

To raise funds, guests will be invited to bid on once-in-a-lifetime memorabilia, including signed football shirts, multiple prizes and a painting that will be painted live on stage by renowned Senegalese artist Boubou. The Papiss Demba Cisse Foundation, inspired by Cisse’s own experiences, the challenges in Senegal and his desire to tackle pressing social issues, aims to transform lives and empower communities for generations to come and highlights Human Appeal’s own ethos of fighting poverty and social injustice around the world.

On the announcement of the partnership, Papiss Cisse commented: “Giving back has always been in my nature, and now I am able, through the foundation and with the help of Human Appeal, to create long and lasting projects that will change the lives of communities in Senegal.”

Zaheer Khan, Director of Fundraising for Human Appeal, adds: “As we continue our mission to aid communities worldwide, the Football Legends Gala Dinner serves as a crucial event to raise funds and support our new projects in Senegal, in partnership with the Papiss Demba Cisse Foundation. With the support of Premier League players, the Gala marks the start of a 3-year partnership to deliver life-saving projects in Senegal. With something for everyone, it is both a celebration of football's finest and a testament to what we can achieve together for a greater cause.”

This ongoing collaboration will support crucial initiatives such as the installation of solar wells, the refurbishment of schools and orphanages, and the establishment of a new Football Academy in Sedhiou, Senegal, to provide sustainable development and improve the quality of life within local communities.

Papiss Cisse and the Human Appeal team are available for interviews to discuss this partnership.
