The challenge at a glance
Simply mentioning the name ‘Snowdonia’ is enough to conjure up a vivid image in the minds of most hikers. This rugged and windswept region in North Wales is famous the world over for its stunning landscapes, plunging valleys, craggy ridges and breathtaking moorland, all of which is a hiker’s paradise. Snowdonia draws thousands of hikers in peak season, but there are all sorts of routes across its vast expanse.
This time however, you’re going to be doing it in the dark. The whole point of the Sunrise Snowdon Challenge is not to hike during sunrise, but hike in the pitch black so you can experience the majesty of a Snowdonian sunrise from the very summit of the mountain. That’s why we’re only asking for the hardiest, toughest and most diehard volunteers. Are you up to the challenge?

Human Appeal has been helping sponsor orphans for 30 years, and are currently sponsoring over 19,000 children across nine different countries. One sponsorship can transform a whole future, and by helping our programme you can rest easy knowing you’re putting the child’s needs first.
All our work is overseen by our child protection specialist, who ensures children are never put at risk. In order to qualify, orphans must remain in school, safeguarding their education and giving them the academic tools to support themselves once they become young adults.
