Clean water is a life-changing gift

Across the world, 2 billion people don’t have access to clean drinking water. Help us to empower and transform communities with clean water for drinking, growing crops, washing, and rearing livestock.

£20 – provide one person with access to clean water, solar lighting, and handwashing points in Somalia.

£430 – install one arsenic and iron removal unit in Bangladesh, purifying water for 55 families.

£1,500 – Provide clean water for 100 people in Rafah, helping us to build a desalination plant that will provide 60,000 people with fresh water every day.

£3,500 – Help us to rehabilitate a water centre for an entire community in Yemen.

What does a community with a water well look like?

When you first donate a water well, you’ll relieve the thirst of the community, who gather round, drinking freely from this new water source. But as weeks pass, slowly you’ll see the huge, transformational shift. Crops will begin to grow from the ground again, providing sustenance for the village. Livestock will thrive and multiply, providing sustainable income to farming families. Children who had to fetch water can return to school, mothers are able to care for their homes, children, and earn a living. Families no longer catch diseases from dirty water, and the health of the whole village improves.

Water isn’t just about relieving thirst. Water is life.

A bountiful gift of mercy

All of our water projects are Sadaqah Jariyah – ongoing charities that provide blessings for those who donate year after year, and even after you’re gone. You can also donate your Zakat to these projects – just calculate what you owe with our easy-to-use Zakat calculator.

When you donate a water well, it’ll be installed with a plaque in your name – or in the name of your loved one if you donated it in their honour. Once complete, you’ll receive a feedback report telling you all about how your donation transformed the community, complete with photos of your water well.
