Food crisis in Yemen
After nine years of conflict, Yemen faces one of the worst hunger crises in the world, with 21.6 million people in need humanitarian assistance.
Amid soaring food prices, 17 million people are food insecure and an estimated 2.2 million children under five and 1.3 million pregnant or breastfeeding women need acute treatment for malnutrition. We must bring relief to Yemen families now to help ease their hunger.
Feed a family every day
Our bread project is your chance to provide a Yemeni family-of-seven with bread deliveries – weighing 1.5 kilograms – every single day for an entire month. We’ll also provide a local charity with an automatic bread machine able to produce 15,000 loaves a day, providing both immediate relief to the hunger today, and a sustainable way to produce bread for vulnerable people in the long term.
Together we can overcome hunger
With your support, we can help 500 families – a total of 3,500 people – by providing a secure source of bread, every day, for an entire month. This will enable struggling Yemeni families to spend any income they may have on other items that they urgently need. Your charity will transform daily life for a Yemeni family, reducing the stress of finding food, as well as the financial and emotional burden.
Empowering communities in Yemen
With your support, we can also empower communities in Yemen to become self-sufficient by producing their own bread. We’ll provide the machinery, fuel, generator, water tank to allow them to provide bread to the communities they support in the long term. We’ll also ensure that they have enough ingredients to provide bread to the 500 families in this project for two months.
