Football Legends Gala Dinner

Dine with legends and transform lives in Senegal

4 Life-Changing Projects in Senegal

While Senegal boasts one of the most stable economies in Africa, over half of its people live in poverty, lacking access to basic support human rights such as clean water and education. Our Football Legends Gala Dinner, brought to you by Papiss Demba Cisse Foundation in partnership with Human Appeal, will raise funds for four life-changing projects. Come and be part of it.

1. Agriculture, Livestock Training and Solar Water Wells

Help Senegalise farmers to feed their families and sell their products

Without access to livelihoods, families in Senegal remain trapped in poverty. We’re supporting 160 families – that’s 1,160 people - with kitchen gardening training across four villages in Sedhiou, including good agricultural practices, modern irrigation technology and livestock breeding. We’re supporting families with land preparation, agricultural tools, fertilisers, pesticides and seeds, and 15 families in each village will also receive a pair of dairy goats.

Help us lift up lives and ensure access to clean water for generations

Lack of access to clean water is rife in Senegal, leading to waterborne diseases and preventable deaths. Our solar water wells in Matam (Sinthioubamambe) and Sedhiou will provide safe drinking water to around 1,600 people in rural, desert areas, improving health outcomes and empowering communities, particularly women who typically bear the burden of water collection. We’re not just addressing a basic need but laying the foundation for a healthier and more prosperous future.

2. Papiss Cisse 9 Football Academy

Help young football players to achieve their potential

Situated in the heart of Sedhiou, Papiss Cisse 9 Academy is training children and young people in Senegal to become world-class professional footballers, while training and developing coaches to lead young footballers to greatness. The Academy offers 5 to 18 years olds the chance to receive best-in-class football training while providing a high level of education. Born from Papiss Cisse’s desire to help talented African players to transcend challenges and turn their dreams into reality, Papiss Cisse 9 Academy is a safe haven and supports human development through sport.

3. Empowering Minds: Transforming Education in Rural Senegal

Help create brighter futures for students

All children deserve access to good quality education yet schools in rural Senegal are overcrowded and inadequate, with insufficient facilities and high dropout rates. Many children are deprived of education due to economic constraints. In Sedihou, we're improving access to quality education by rehabilitating classrooms, constructing additional facilities, and providing essential supplies, benefiting over 740 students.

4 Nurturing Futures for Orphans in Dakar

Provide orphans with the foundation they need to thrive

Every child deserves a safe, supportive environment to thrive and fulfil their potential. In Senegal, orphaned children often face unimaginable challenges and limited opportunities for education and growth. Through supporting the Rufisque Orphanage in Dakar, we're providing essential care, education, and life skills training to over 80 children, offering them a chance at a brighter future. By investing in young lives, we're not only breaking the cycle of poverty but also nurturing the seeds of hope and possibility.

Help support these life-changing projects in Senegal. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of many, empowering communities, nurturing talent, and fostering hope for a brighter future.
