Orphan Sponsorship

Sponsor an orphan, secure a legacy

"I and the one who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like these two." (Bukhari)

As we embrace each new day, 5,700 children awaken to the harsh reality of orphanhood. Amidst the challenges of climate change and conflict, more children find their futures derailed, leaving them vulnerable and alone. No child should bear this fear unaided.

Presently, 6,432 orphans are registered with Human Appeal, each yearning for a compassionate sponsor to ensure their education, safe housing, and access to essential necessities. Become a sponsor today and harvest the blessings of this Sunnah each month.

Shattered dreams

Globally, an estimated 143 to 210 million children have experienced the traumatic loss of one or both parents, often in the harshest circumstances. A child, once cared for by loving parents, now stands alone. Many must leave school to fend for themselves, facing the perils of sickness, malnutrition, and exploitation.

This is why we urgently seek sponsors for the multitude of children under our care, guiding them to a secure routine and swiftly back to school.

Your support can break the cycle before it's too late, granting them the opportunity to lead healthy, protected, and educated lives. Importantly, sponsorship allows them to stay in school, sparing them the burden of self-support.

Honoring a Prophetic tradition

In his lifetime, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) - himself an orphan - emphasised caring for orphans, offering a promise of closeness to him in Jannah for those who follow suit. This act acknowledges the beauty of caring for the most vulnerable in our ummah – children left without those who care for them.

Sponsoring an orphan isn't merely an extension of the Messenger's (PBUH) legacy; it also supports the child's mother or caregiver by covering the costs of:

  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Healthcare housing
  • School supplies

Experience, safety, compassion

Rely on our 30 years of experience in caring for orphaned children. With a dedicated child safeguarding officer in every country where we sponsor orphans, and all staff trained in child protection, we ensure their safety. We extend our care to mothers and caregivers, empowering them to protect the children from common risks.

Opt for a single annual payment of £420, equivalent to just £1.15 per day or £8.75 per week. It's also Zakat-applicable.

We are immensely grateful to those already contributing to a brighter future, one child at a time. Your legacy of giving brings blessings each month.

Currently, our sponsors are transforming the lives of over 20,000 orphans in 12 countries, yet thousands more await a sponsor to secure their essentials like food, clothing, and medical expenses.

Transparency and accountability

As a sponsor, you will receive bi-annual progress updates and an annual report. Witness the profound impact of your generosity – their academic achievements, their aspirations, even a drawing from the child.

We are dedicated to sharing the monumental, life-changing influence your generosity has on a child who has endured unimaginable hardships.

Protecting children of the Ummah

Sponsoring an orphan offers a child the opportunities all children deserve – health, protection, and education. We also provide training to mothers and caregivers to shield the children from common risks and hazards.

Orphan sponsorship is flexible. Choose to sponsor a specific child, select based on age or location, or entrust our Orphan and Child Welfare team to identify the child in the most urgent need of support. Registration takes just a few minutes, marking the beginning of transformative change in a child's life.

Extend your mercy today.
