The Messenger (PBUH) demonstrated mercy to children throughout his life; he liked to make children laugh, to play with them and to spread joy.

He also promised closeness to him in Paradise for the person who cares for an orphan. You can donate a gift to an orphan, and spread hope, kindness, and joy to a vulnerable child who has lost one or both of their parents.
