Devastating floods have affected 5.2 million people and killed 20 people so far. Relentless monsoon rains have caused rivers to burst their banks, overwhelming communities with floodwater. 400,000 people have been forced to flee their homes across 11 districts.

Vast areas of Bangladesh have been submerged by floods, affecting more than 5 million people. Many have seen their homes, farms, and businesses inundated. Flooding poses grave dangers, including the spread of disease, sewage overflows, contaminated drinking water, and the risk of landslides and further disasters.
Human Appeal has been working in Bangladesh for more than 30 years. Our expert local team are already providing emergency relief to families affected by the floods.
We want to help around 12,000 people through food distributions to sustain people in the immediate future, hygiene kits which will help combat the spread of disease, fodder for livestock, and seeds to farmers whose agricultural land has been damaged. We’ll also work to rehabilitate latrines and tubewells, restoring hygiene infrastructure in the affected areas.
We work year-round strengthening communities – as many as 18.3 million Bangladeshis face climate crises. But our 32 years of experience also allows us to respond with efficiency and focus when disaster strikes.

Human Appeal responds to Bangladesh Floods. On August 26, 2024, we delivered lifesaving aid to 200 families in flood-hit Cumilla.
Each family received food staples like rice, lentils, and cooking oil, along with hygiene items to last 2-3 weeks.
Over 4.8 million people affected and thousands displaced. Human Appeal is on the ground providing emergency relief, including food, fodder and hygiene kits.
More than 300,000 people are still in emergency shelters. We're committed to helping these communities rebuild.
