Show an orphan mercy
“I and the one who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like these two” – and he gestured with his forefinger and middle finger, holding them close together. (Bukhari)
Every single minute, four children are orphaned – that’s a staggering 5,700 children orphaned every single day of Ramadan.
In any community, orphans are among the most vulnerable groups, often facing hunger, disease, exploitation and extreme cycles of poverty that they need help to break out of.
When you sponsor an orphan with us, you’ll help a child to break that cycle, and give them the opportunity that all children deserve – a healthy, protected, and educated future.
Be a mercy to a vulnerable orphan this Ramadan by becoming a sponsor. Our one-to-one Orphan Sponsorship programme helps you to transform an orphan’s life, and reduce their everyday struggles. £35 per month helps to cover the cost of food, shelter, clothes, healthcare and learning materials. That’s just £1.15 per day! Or, if you prefer, you can give your sponsorship in a one-off annual payment of £420.
In his lifetime, the Messenger (PBUH) cared for orphans, and promised great reward for those who did the same. This Ramadan, entrust your sponsorship to our 30 years of experience in caring for orphaned children.
With the continuing pandemic, and the lives and livelihoods it has claimed, orphaned children are facing more insecurity than ever. We urgently need more sponsors for thousands of children registered with us who are waiting for a sponsor to help them build a brighter future.
You can choose where you sponsor a child, as well as their age and gender – or you can let us select the child in the most urgent need of sponsorship.
And it’s Zakat-applicable too!
Currently our sponsors are helping 18,495 orphans across nine countries, but we have thousands more who are registered with us and waiting for someone to sponsor them.
Become a sponsor in this month of mercy, and help give a child a safer today, and a brighter tomorrow.
Why sponsor through Human Appeal?
We’ve been helping supporters to sponsor orphans for 30 years. Currently, our supporters are sponsoring over 18,495 orphans across nine countries.
We’ve streamlined an efficient and impactful sponsorship which helps to transform futures while putting each child’s needs first.
It’s Zakat-applicable, allowing you to fulfil this beautiful Islamic duty, while reaping the blessings of Ramadan.
In order to qualify for child sponsorship, an orphaned child must remain in school, which safeguards their right to an education and a future, and helps to give them the tools to support themselves once they become young adults in the world. We also provide training to their mothers or caregivers about protection, helping to safeguard them from common risks and dangers. Entrust your precious charity to us and change a young life. It’s a beautiful Sadaqah Jariyah; the safety, knowledge and health that you provide an orphan with will benefit them for the rest of their lives, and bring blessings upon you too!
It’s some of our most impactful, which we carry out with great care, and a sense of Amanah – the trust that you give to us when you sponsor an orphan, and the trust that that orphan puts in us, to make sure they are fed, warm, protected and cared for.
What to expect when you sponsor an orphan
As soon as you sign up to be a sponsor, we’ll send you an electronic welcome pack with a photo of the child you’re sponsoring and their story, which you should receive within 14 days.
You’ll start receiving annual handwritten messages and/or drawings from the child you support telling you about their daily life, interests, and achievements. You’ll also receive detailed updates from our local staff who work in their community, so you can share in the achievements of the child you support year after year.
Sponsoring an orphan is one of the most blessed and rewarding acts a Muslim can do. The Messenger (PBUH) promised to be close in heaven to the one who cares for an orphan:
“Whoever embraces an orphan of two Muslim parents by feeding him and giving him drink until he is independent of him, Paradise will certainly be necessary for him.” (Malik ibn Al-Harith)
In this month of mercy, follow in the footsteps of the Messenger (PBUH), build a brighter future, and multiply your reward in the hereafter, inshallah.
