Water: the best of charities
Give the gift of clean water
This Eid al-Adha, continue the legacy of the prophets by giving the best of charities. We’ve prepared a host of zakat-applicable sustainable water projects so that you can give the best of charities during the most beloved time of year.
There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)
In Gaza, 97% of water is contaminated. Give £15, and provide one person with access to clean water for up to 15 years through our water desalination plant.
Provide two vulnerable people with clean drinking water every day in Iraq for £120.
Donate £770 and provide a whole community in drought-hit Pakistan with a deep water well, and clean water for years to come.
Water is mentioned 63 times in the Quran, and every prophet in our holy book has a story that relates closely to water.
It’s no wonder that providing water is considered one of the greatest charities in Islam.
Around the world, 2 billion people use a drinking water source that is contaminated by faeces. Some 485,000 people die every year from diarrhoea because they rely on unsafe water. Now is the time to change this.
This Eid al-Adha, help us to transform communities struggling with extreme water shortage or contamination - in Pakistan and Bangladesh - as well as those whose water infrastructure has been decimated by war, in Gaza and Iraq.
Why donate with Human Appeal?
We’ve been running water projects for 29 years. That means that we have an incredible amount of expertise, experience, and dedication under our belt. We know what type of water project is needed for the local environment. We build deep tube wells, boreholes, reverse-osmosis unite, solar-powered pumps, and desalination plants, and we know which of this will have the most impact for each community.
We’ve streamlined our projects – our local staff are skilled and knowledgeable, and they’re supported by three decades of experience.
When you help us to install clean water solutions, you don’t just saves lives, you create local jobs, improve health, and empower communities.
Together, we can ensure that vulnerable people can have access to clean, safe water for years to come, and the opportunity to build brighter futures.
Provide what the Prophet (PBUH) called the best of charities in this holy month, transform communities, and multiply your blessings.
