Eid Mubarak from Human Appeal
Ramadan, Human Appeal's busiest month of the year has ended, and we would like to wish everyone Eid Mubarak!
We would like to thank all our donors and supporters over the past month - your generosity will help us reach millions and save countless lives across the world.
Human Appeal are the charity partners for two major Eid events in London and Birmingham today. Eid in the Park 2015, in Small Heath Park, Birmingham, organised by a coalition of Mosques and Human Appeal, is expected to attract around 60,000 people (making it the largest Eid gathering in Europe). Its London equivalent, being held at Mile End Stadium, is also anticipating large crowds.
Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, will be observed by over one billion Muslims, many of whom live in some of the poorest communities in the world. Human Appeal is currently distributing Zakat al-Fitr (also known as Fitrana), a cumpolsary charity given by Muslims to the poor at the end of Ramadan, to some of these impoverished and war-stricken communities.
This includes places such as: Syria, Palestine, Pakistan and many other countries in which poverty is rife and people may not be able to afford any food to eat on Eid.
