British Charity Human Appeal unveils powerful winter campaign
Britain-based charity Human Appeal has launched its #breaktheice campaign, which aims to save lives across the world this winter.
The campaign focuses on some of the most deprived parts of the world including Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Pakistan, aiming to reach those who are most at risk during the winter season. However, during Christmas week, Human Appeal will also be increasing its activities within the UK. The charity will provide practical support, care and friendship to homeless and disadvantaged people between December 21 - 27.
The service will include dental and medical checks, shower facilities, clothing, hot food, shelter for a night, plus a backpack with essentials. Practical help and advise on housing matters is also set to be provided in ten different regions across the country.
Outside the UK, with the winter season fast approaching, families who already have very little will be extremely vulnerable to the cold. The project will not only provide clothing to men, women and children, but also provide families with winter essentials such as blankets and bedding.
Earlier this week, Human Appeal showed the plight of vulnerable families this winter with a powerful video from Gaza, showing one desperate family who live in a nylon shelter and recently had to burn their bed frame to keep warm.
Human Appeal’s biggest UK project in December in aid of its Winter Appeal will be its highly anticipated 20-city ‘The Comedy Tour’, starring the American trio Preacher Moss, Azhar Usman and Mo Amer from Allah Made Me Funny, as well as British comedy sensation Guzzy Bear.
The charity’s winter slogan #breaktheice has quickly spread across social media with its multiple meanings and powerful message. The charity believes this campaign is its strongest winter appeal to date and hopes to help over 5,000 people with the campaign.
