£100 - Provide clean water, sanitation and improved hygiene to 10 Rohingya refugees, protecting them from disease, infection, and floods.
In Cox’s Bazar, 850,000 Rohingya refugees are still living in overcrowded and neglected camps, having fled a bloody and brutal persecution in Myanmar.
Health facilities in Jamtoli refugee camp, Cox’s Bazar, have been described as a ‘ticking time bomb’, with latrines overflowing with waste.

Protect vulnerable Rohingya refugees from risky conditions
This project will support Rohingya refugees in Jamtoli camp, in the world’s largest refugee settlement, as well as the vulnerable Bangladeshi host community.
Refugees in Jamtoli are still living in temporary shelters, having fled persecution in Myanmar four years ago. There aren’t enough toilets, and many latrines are overflowing with waste, turning to unhygienic mud when it rains.
Residents here urgently need new latrines and a water system, and access to information about good hygiene so that they can fight the spread of disease before it’s too late.

With your help, we want to support 4,460 people in improving the hygiene conditions in Jamtoli camp and in the host community.
With your help, we’ll repair and rehabilitate 140 latrines, install 12 toilets, and repair an additional 140. We’ll also clean and restore 55 latrines, and construct 6 tube wells, providing clean water to the community. A clean-up campaign will also provide 300 people with day labour.
We’ll also support learning and the longevity of good hygiene practices by training 12 management committees, organising 80 awareness sessions on improved hygiene and clean water as well as 60 sessions for girls to improve feminine hygiene and break taboos about female health.
Our work in Bangladesh
Human Appeal has been working in Bangladesh for the last 6 years. Last year, we continued to support Bangladeshis and Rohingya families through hygiene and food security projects, supporting a total of 30,981 people in Bangladesh.
It can be extremely hard to stay clean living in a refugee camp, but without hygienic toilets and a water system, it is all but impossible.
Together, we can work to remedy that. Help us improve the living conditions of Rohingya families, who have been forgotten and neglected after having survived brutal persecution and hardship in their homeland.
