Qurbani in Nigeria (cow)
“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)
For £70 provide your Qurbani in Nigeria, where food insecurity has skyrocketed since last year.
Food insecurity has spiralled out of control in north-east Nigeria, with 5.1 million people at risk of food insecurity this autumn, an increase of 20% from last year, which was during the height of the pandemic.
For £70, our local staff in Nigeria source healthy, cared-for cows from community farmers, and distribute four kilos of nutritional meat to each vulnerable family, helping to bring joy to up to 28 people this Eid. Often, Qurbani is a family’s only chance in the year to eat meat.
Last year, one Qurbani given through Human Appeal provided an average of 16 kilograms of meat split between 4 vulnerable families. That’s an average of around 4 kilograms of meat per family.
