Empowering women with business loans
100% Zakat applicable
“The best charity is that given in Ramadan” (Al-Tirmidhi)
£50 – provide a woman or young person with a small business loan to help them to have a sustainable business.
More people need humanitarian help in Sudan than at any other point in the last decade. Around 14.3 million people – 30 per cent of the population – need humanitarian help in 2022, that’s 800,000 more people than in 2021.
A staggering 9.6 million people are hungry and unsure where their next meal is coming from
This Ramadan, help us to provide 2,500 women and young people with small business loans, helping them to have profitable businesses and to lift themselves out of poverty for good. We’ll be focusing in particular on survivors of gender-based violence, empowering them with a way to support themselves and their children.
Uplift women with a brighter future
With your help this Ramadan, we want to establish 50 Village Savings and Loans Associations for 2,500 women and young people in the Blue Nile state of Sudan. These associations offer group members small loans which they can invest into establishing their farming businesses, producing enough food for their families, and selling the surplus to make a profit.
When you support a woman in establishing a livelihood, you will help her entire family, community and generations to come. Empowered women who make financial decisions are more likely to raise educated children who will not be subject to early or child marriage. With financial responsibility and ability, women are less likely to be victims of gender-based violence.
Donate to empower vulnerable women in this month of mercy, and multiply your blessings.
Our work in Sudan
Human Appeal has been changing lives through our projects in Sudan since 2020. In 2020, we helped 11,310 people in Sudan and last year, we helped 11,138 through food security and winter projects.
Your charity this Ramadan will empower some of the most vulnerable families in Sudan by helping them become self-sufficient and to tackle hunger.
Spread mercy this Ramadan, and reap the mercy of the holy month.
