Follow the legacy of the Prophets
“Read in the name of thy Lord who taught by the pen: [He] taught the human being what he did not know.” (Quran 96:3-5)
£15 - provides 3 children with access to the library, activities, books, and education.
£25 - provides 5 children with access to the library, activities, books, and education.
£50 – provides 10 children with access to the library, activities, books, and education.
Honour the Islamic principle of education by helping children to learn, study and pray. Provide new equipment, books, and furniture to the children’s library at the holy Masjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem.
The Prophet Muhmmad (PBUH) led prayers where Masjid Al-Aqsa was later built. He encouraged us to value education:
“A father gives his child nothing better than a good education.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
Al-Aqsa library can’t support it’s children. Follow the legacy of the Prophet
Palestinian children in Jerusalem are restricted from accessing the educational and extra-curricular programmes in other parts of the city. Al-Aqsa children’s library is one of only two libraries that they can access; it aims to help children up to the age of 15 to learn about science, culture, history, literature and religion through books, activities and social programmes.
Currently Al-Aqsa library doesn’t have the resources to meet the needs of the children in its community. They need your help in order to start running programmes and activities that help to promote reading, and to have the facilities to plan and develop cultural and historical learning.
With the help of the Zakat Committee of Al-Aqsa, we want to strengthen the children’s library so that no child in East Jerusalem is left behind.
Become a friend of Al-Aqsa. Give the gift of education
When you donate just £5, you’ll give one child access to new equipment and books, in a project that will provide a total of 5,000 girls, 5,000 boys, and 4,000 parents with access to improved library facilities.
You’ll also help us to establish book clubs, a story-reading hour and other activities that help to develop listening, communication, and reading skills.
With your help, Al-Aqsa library will help schools to establish programmes that encourage reading, they’ll set up a reading friends project – which pairs disadvantaged children with volunteer readers who will help them with reading every week.
Our work in Palestine
We’ve been changing lives in Palestine for 20 years. Our recent work includes building a desalination plant for 15,000 people at Al Aqsa University, supporting over 3,000 children through winter in Gaza, and helping to fight the critical medical crisis by providing 10,000 medicines. Last year, we also set up an education and welfare centre, ensuring 450 Palestinian students have the opportunity to access school.
Give today, and leave behind a legacy that honours the Prophet’s message, in the second holiest site in Islam. The books and equipment that you help us to buy will benefit generations of Palestinian children, inshallah, providing you with endless rewards.
