Sustainable clean water in Gaza

“The best charity is giving water to drink.” (Ahmad)

Despite the devastation caused by the bombing of homes schools and hospitals, the leading cause of children’s deaths in Gaza is contaminated water.

The entire population of the Gaza Strip depends on one single aquifer for water, which is chronically contaminated by saltwater and sewage. A staggering 97% of water in Gaza is undrinkable and contaminated.

£300 provides access to the water desalination plant for fifteen people.

Human Appeal's work in Gaza and the West Bank

Human Appeal has been working in Palestine for over ten years. In 2018, you helped over 300,000 Gazans with lifesaving projects that improved livelihoods and sanitation, and delivered food, shelter, and water. We installed water desalination plants in three hospitals and in Al-Aqsa University, which provides 13,000 students with 70 litres of safe drinking water every day.
