Orphan Sponsorship

Mohammed, Orphan, Syria

For £35 you can transform a child’s future through orphan sponsorship. Honour the Prophet’s (PBUH) legacy of mercy to children. Transform a future.

Sponsor a child

Sponsor an orphan

“I and the one who sponsors an orphan will be in Paradise like these two” – and he gestured with his forefinger and middle finger, holding them close together. (Bukhari)

Every single day, an estimated 10,000 children become orphans. Each night as we go to sleep, another 10,000 children will have their futures taken from them. In any community, orphans are always one of the most vulnerable groups, often facing hunger, disease, exploitation and extreme cycles of poverty that they need help to break out of.

Your sponsorship will help a child to break that cycle, and give them the opportunity that all children deserve – a chance to be healthy, protected, and educated. £35 per month helps to cover the cost of food, shelter, clothes, healthcare and learning materials. That’s just £1.15 per day! To qualify for sponsorship, the child must stay in school, ensuring they gain the education and skills for a better tomorrow.

Give Mohammed a second chance

Mohammed has scoliosis, and had to leave behind his braces when he fled his home in Aleppo. Now he lives in a tent that doesn’t protect them from the rain or blistering heat. “Yesterday, I took him to the doctor who told me that my son needed an operation but it’s very expensive,” explained his mother.

“Muhammed, he can’t do anything, he can’t even play with other children, or they’ll taunt him.

“After my husband passed away, everything became difficult. [Mohammed] asks me where is my dad? I say that your dad has died, he went to Jannah.

“I just want to live safely with my children. I don’t need anything more than that.”

Change a life When you sponsor an orphan, you’ll give a child like Mohammed the opportunity that all children deserve – a chance to be healthy, protected, and educated.

We also provide training to their mothers or caregivers about protection, helping to safeguard them from common risks and dangers.

With the spread of COVID-19, orphaned children are facing more insecurity than ever, and we urgently need more sponsors for hundreds of vulnerable children across nine countries.

Orphan sponsorship is all on your terms – you can choose to sponsor a certain child, or sponsor someone based on their age, or location. Or, you can leave it to our Orphan and Child Welfare team to select the child in most urgent need of sponsorship. It takes just a few minutes to register, and to begin to change a child’s life.

Why sponsor through Human Appeal?

We’ve been helping supporters to sponsor orphans for 30 years. Currently, our supporters are sponsoring over 16,000 orphans across nine countries. We’ve witnessed how one sponsorship can change a whole future, and we’ve developed a programme that puts the child’s needs first.

In order to qualify for child sponsorship, an orphaned child must remain in school, which safeguards their right to an education and a future, and helps to give them the tools to support themselves once they become young adults in the world. We also provide training to their mothers or caregivers about protection, helping to safeguard them from common risks and dangers.

Entrust your precious charity to us and change a young life. It’s a beautiful Sadaqah Jariyah; the safety, knowledge and health that you provide an orphan with will benefit them for the rest of their lives, and bring blessings upon you too!

Child protection: the safest place for your orphan sponsorship

Our number one priority in all our work is protecting the rights, dignity and safety of the people we support. Human Appeal has vigorous checks, measures, and policies to ensure that all children and vulnerable people that we work with are protected from harm. We have designated child protection coordinators, who ensure that our Child Protection Policy is followed, that children are protected, and that any complaints are reported and escalated.
