Save the besieged victims of Syria
In besieged areas of Syria, hundreds of thousands of people are facing possible death.
The world has already witnessed the devastating effects of besiegement in Madaya, where over 40,000 people have been starving and eating leaves, soil and stray animals to stay alive. These shocking images were just another example of the humanitarian catastrophe in Syria. Thankfully, we’re continuing to provide life-saving support in Madaya, thanks to your wonderful generosity.
But now, people in Aleppo, Ghouta and other areas are also enduring a debilitating siege. The UN estimates that 400,000 people in Syria are currently living in 15 besieged areas without access to food and medical aid. There are also reports that people are being killed for trying to leave the towns.
Watching yet another community of Syrians, including children, die of starvation is not an option. It’s therefore vital we continue our work and expand our efforts to Syria’s other besieged towns.
