Accounts and charitable status
A 21st century charity meeting the needs of a 21st century world
For almost two decades Human Appeal - which is headquartered in the UK - operated as a charitable trust. In the past few years along with many other charities Human Appeal has grown rapidly. With that growth comes extra responsibilities.
We have re-evaluated on how best to collect donations, meet the requirements and expectations of our donors and supporters and how best to serve the people who so desperately need the aid we provide. In 2014 Human Appeal applied to the Charity Commission to change its status. Human Appeal is now registered with the Charity Commission as an incorporated charity.
The reasoning behind this decision can be found by going to the advice page on the Charity Commission website and searching 'becoming a charitable company'.
One consequence of this change of status is a lot of information about Human Appeal is no longer available on the Charity Commission website. We are assured by the Charity Commission that it will appear once their website is updated.
Meanwhile, in our commitment to transparency we have posted a greater amount of information about us and our financial status on our website.
